Terms and Conditions of Service

Getaway Japan Itineraries

These Terms and Conditions of Service (the “Terms”) govern your purchase and use of the Getaway Japan Itineraries custom travel planning services (the “Services”) provided by Glingual (“we,” “us,” or “our”) to a recipient of the Services (the “Client”, “you” or “your”). By submitting an application or paying for the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1) Definitions

  • “Services” means the creation and delivery of a customized digital travel itinerary (PDF) for Japan based on the information provided in your application.
  • “Deliverable” means the final customized digital itinerary document (PDF) provided to you.
  • “Quote” means the written pricing estimate we provide based on your application, including the scope of the itinerary (e.g., number of bases and travel days).

2) Nature of the Services (Digital Itinerary Creation) The Services are designed to provide independent travelers with a highly curated, practical blueprint for their trip to Japan. We provide logical routing, recommendations, context, and direct booking links. We do not promise specific outcomes, availability of venues, or guarantee weather conditions. You remain fully responsible for your final choices, bookings, and actions taken during your trip. Please note: This Service does not include 1-on-1 consultations or in-trip messaging support.

3) No Booking Services We focus entirely on crafting the itinerary and providing direct booking links so you can retain full control. We do not handle any bookings or reservations for hotels, restaurants, flights, trains, or activities. All bookings and related payments must be completed directly by you under your own name. We are not responsible for the performance, cancellations, or acts/omissions of any third-party providers.

4) Application, Quote, and Payment After you submit an application, we will review it and issue a custom Quote. Quotes are valid for three (3) days. Planning and creation of the Deliverable will only begin once we confirm receipt of full payment. Payment shall be made by credit card through the method designated by us.

5) Delivery of the Itinerary We will deliver the final Deliverable (PDF) to the email address provided in your application within seven (7) business days after your payment is confirmed. Rush delivery may be accommodated upon request and subject to an additional fee, depending on availability.

6) Revisions and Add-ons We offer one (1) complimentary revision to the Deliverable if we missed any of the specific priorities or constraints you provided in your initial application. Revision requests must be submitted within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving the Deliverable. Any major scope changes requested after delivery—such as adding new destinations, extending the trip length, or completely changing the travel style—are considered a new request and require a new application and fee.

7) Communications We communicate primarily by email. You are responsible for ensuring that emails from us can be received (including spam filtering and correct email address entry).

8) No Cancellations or Refunds You may cancel your application at any time before payment without penalty. However, because our local experts begin crafting your custom itinerary immediately after payment is confirmed, all payments are strictly non-refundable, and no cancellations are permitted once payment is made.

9) Intellectual Property; Permitted Use All copyrights in the Deliverable and any provided materials are owned by us. We grant you a limited, non-transferable license to use the Deliverable solely for your personal trip planning. You may not reproduce, publish, redistribute, or resell our materials without our prior written consent.

10) Confidentiality We will treat your nonpublic trip information as confidential and use it solely for the purpose of providing the Services, except as required by law or as necessary for payment processing and the essential operations of the Services.

11) Disclaimers We do not guarantee the availability of any restaurant, hotel, ticket, or experience recommended in the Deliverable. Recommendations are provided for informational purposes and may be fully booked or unavailable at the time you attempt to reserve them. We do not provide legal, medical, or immigration advice.

12) Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Except in the case of willful misconduct or gross negligence, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Services will not exceed the total fees paid by you to us for the applicable Quote.

13) Force Majeure We shall not be responsible for any delay or failure to perform arising out of events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, transportation disruptions, strikes, outages, or platform failures.

14) Privacy Our processing of personal information is governed by our separate Privacy Policy and applicable laws, including Japanese Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

15) Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. Any such updates become effective when posted on our website (or on a later date we specify).

16) Governing Law and Jurisdiction These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in Japan.
